Machine building Factory of Podolsk
Machine building Factory of Podolsk was founded in 1919 as Locomotive Repairing Works Venture. During the 1 -st Five-Year Plan period the plant manufactured cracking units for oil refinery industry and electric locomotives for mining industry.
In the 1940's the plant started to manufacture power steam boilers of drum type and was the first one in the country to start producing straightthrough boilers.
The straightthrough boilers for 200 MW power unit, incorporated novel design features and high estimated by specialists, were manufactured for wide range of fuel and great number of native and foreign power stations.
At present ZiO is one of the leading enterprises in power machine building industry which manufactures large boiler units for thermal power plants and equipment for oil refinery industry and nuclear power plants.
The plant has great experience in design, research, manufacture and maintenance of equipment for nuclear power plants beginning with the first one in the world in Obninsk.
Power generation equipment with the mark of "ZiO" work at many power plants in Russia and abroad: Eastern European countries, Finland, Greece, Vietnam.
Highly qualified specialists of the plant are experienced in design of pilot equipment, technological processes, research works in arc and contact welding of heat exchanging equipment, shells and different vessels.
In welding process while manufacturing and erection electrodes produced by ZiO are used. They are in conformity with the most strict requirements.
The factory has been certified by ASM E for manufacturing Code stamped boilers and pressure vessels.
The plant has modern machines for metal working.
Plant shops are united according to specialization into Production & Process Firms (PTF), which have the right to conclude their own contracts with other plants in the country and abroad.
Because of wide technological opportunities ZiO is a competible partner in manufacturing of equipment for different branches of industry.
Every PTF includes the production of complete technology linefrom storing shop up to assembling shop and pointing shop.
The assembling shopes are entirely completed with modern native and import equipment for manual are welding, argon arc welding, and posts for manual oxyacetylene cutting.
Recliving the metal straight from the metallurgical plants, ZiO turns out the equipment of different sizes and purposes, using the progressive methods and modern technology. The great stook of metalworking equipment and modern tool equipment are making ZiO productionindependent, high efficiency and quality.
