Equipmtnt for nuclear power plants
The Machine-Building Factory of Podolsk is one of the enterprises which is known to be the first in the world to produce the most reliable equipment for nuclear power plants. Since 1953 the factory supplies steam generators, fast neutrons reactors and other heat exchanging equipment for all nuclear power plants being built both in Russia and abroad beginning with the first in the world nuclear power plant in Obninsk. The first industrial water-water reactor (ВВЭР) was manufactured at ZiO.
Such unique heat exchanging equipment as steam generators, steam separator-reheaters, regenerators, technological condensators, etc. have been developed and released up to the modern requirements and world level.
Foreign nuclear power plants in Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, East Germany, Finland with ВВЭР-440 reactors have been equipped with steam generators ПГВ-440, steam separator-reheaters СПП-220, tubepipes and heat exchangers for different purposes.
Long-term non-failure service of ВВЭР- 440 power-generating units prove the qualitative release of the factory products.
While designing equipment there are used tecnical solutions which are protected by author's certificates and patents in a number of leading foreign countries.
There are state-of-art and unique technologies used in our manufacture: pipe longitu- dial fining, mechanical and hydraulic rolling, deep drilling.
The application of high quality carbon and alloyed steels, modern argon-arc welding, a great volume of inspection for welds are the guarantee of quick and qualitative equipment production.
ZiO produces the control systems for power-generating units of nuclear power plants with ВВЭР-440 and ВВЭР-1000.
The factory produces a great number of heat-exchangers for the technical systems of the nuclear power plants and among them from the tubes of titanium alloys and bimetallic tube sheets with titanium alloy layer.
Net heat-exchangers have been designed and manufactured for the nuclear power plants.
During a short period of time the equipment for the nuclear plants with the fast neutrons reactor БН-350 has been manufactured: the reactor casing, intermediate heat exchangers, steam generators. Partically a new production technology has been developed at the plant to produce a set of equipment for БН-600 which is characterized by a more complicated layout and increased requirements for quality.
Cladded pipes, diameter 351x36 mm and 426x40 mm, both of home and foreign origin are used for pipelines.
Main circulation pipings are made of high-al- loyed steel pipes having diameter 560x34 mm.
